International NRG Energy Competition

What would you say if we told you that you could make a difference in the Energy sector? What if you could pitch your new and innovative idea to an expert jury and over 5000 decision makers in the international energy market? What would you say if we told you that this opportunity is closer than you might think?

The NRG Battle - World Edition is an event where the greatest talents in the field of Energy meet, compete and innovate with each other. During the World Gas Conference, the NRG Battle – World Edition will challenge students from around the globe to come up with novel, innovative and useful ideas to actual problems and questions that large companies in the energy sector are facing. We successfully organized the International NRG Battle – Europe Edition for the past three years in the Netherlands.

The Energy clubs have a great reputation in this competition; a team with members from the French HEC Energy Club competed in the last preliminary round of 2011 and even won the NRG Battle –Europe Edition 2011.

International companies, like Shell and others who operate in the energy sector, will select 100 top talents from our online Global Talent Pool. These 100 top talents will be flown to Kuala Lumpur and work in multidisciplinary teams for four days on challenging cases provided by the participating companies, on the Youth Carnival of the World Gas Conference. Every team will pitch their idea in a 3-minute pitch to an expert jury consisting of CEO’s and Directors from the energy sector. From twenty participating teams, three teams will be nominated by the jury to pitch their idea for 5000 delegates during the closing of the conference. The delegates will then choose the winner via text messages. All team members of the winning team win an around the world ticket! So they can discover the world!

The NRG Battle – World Edition will be organized from 4-8 June 2012. Flights, accommodation and food will be arranged. The only thing you have to do is sign up at www.nrgbattle.com and be available from the 3-9 June 2012! This is your chance to shine and change the world. Are you ready? It will be a life changing experience.

Want to save money on energy bills, consider $core

$CORE is coordinated through the Environmental Center and funded by Xcel Energy, and we provide FREE energy assessments to student renters living in Boulder. The assessments are done by teams of two trained student technicians and take around one hour. During this time, technicians will install energy saving devices such as CFLs, low-flow shower heads, weatherstripping, faucet aerators etc. as well as discuss targeted ways the tenants can save money on energy bills. We also order tenants a free COSMOS Pizza if have their roommates are present.
